The size and quality of the Fremont glyphs found at Fruta, along side the road that runs through Capitol Reef, are still impressive after numerous visits. The photos in this album provide a few shots of what’s there. Lighting at this site has to be just right in order to see the glyphs clearly because the viewing platform is so far away from the work. Early morning works best for seeing and taking good photographs of the site. It helps to have binoculars to enlarge and see all of the glyphs at this location.

Three Fingers Canyon and its rock art are located in the San Rafael Swell not far from Temple Mountain. The geology of the area is very interesting. One needs to be very careful to avoid stepping on some of the rock art as some of it is on the ground.

The mining of Temple Mountain left a number of stone structures from some who lived there in the not too distant past; it is a very interesting place we’ve just begun to explore.
