Another day of transition - we left the Needles District and Monticello early in the morning in route to Capitol Reef and Torrey. Our first stop was the South Fork of Mule Canyon to see habitation sites. We saw only one sight before we had to leave to find the Moss Back glyphs we had heard about but not visited. We will be back to see more of this beautiful canyon and the other habitation sites it contains.

Thanks to Sue and Bob Ludkey, we found our way onto Moss Back Butte, near Fry Canyon. We explored this rugged and remote region and found only a few of the glyphs that are there, when our time vanished and we had to get back on the road to Torrey. On the bright side, driving through more of Utah’s unique geography and landscapes was a visual joy.
