As we traveled into Largo and Crow Canyons we discovered they are under assault from the development of 25,000 natural gas sites of the San Juan Basin oil fields. The damage done to the roads in this area of vast public lands have, for the most part, been transformed into rutted, wash boarded nightmares due to the trucks that service and deliver the natural gas.

Twenty miles into Largo Canyon we made the turn into the access road to Crow Canyon and left the traffic behind. We soon discovered the unique petroglyphs done by Navajo and Pueblo peoples. Among the images we enjoyed were Navajo deities, or Yeis, and maize that we had not seen before in our Utah travels.
