Once again Todd and his friends put on the most amazing annual BBQ contest. It is held in Roberts Park in the hills of Oakland and Todd and his friends line up at 5AM in the morning to reserve their place in the upper section of the huge grassy field next to the public pool.
This year they got to wait until 6AM to set up their grills for the park rangers enjoy their visit so much they reserved it ahead of time for this growing group of wonderful folks.
There were 7 contenders who set up elaborate grills and slow cooked their ribs for hours before we all ate around 3PM. The cooks first tasted each others ribs and voted for the best cook of the year. That cook got to take home the coveted clever until next year. Then there was a panel for the people's choice and finally the mass was fed a feast for all. WHAT FUN, my tummy still aches from all the yummy ribs and side dishes.
