Day 7: We headed northwest from Thermopolis and found the Legend Rock State Petroglyph Site along a cliff face with nearly 100 prehistoric petroglyph panels and some 300 individual figures. Legend Rock has been a sacred site for Native Americans for thousands of years. In 1973 it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In addition to the having the world’s largest mineral hot springs, Thermopolis also has the Wyoming Dinosaur Center which we found to be exceptional.
