Day 25: To Tehachapi
This was a travel day that split up the long drive home from Flagstaff to Berkeley. We were able to take Route 66 part of the time as it paralleled the main freeway. From there we saw the old gas stations, buildings, and other iconic remains of a time not so very long ago. The day was unusually hazy and dreary, a good veil over our feelings of leaving good friends and great days behind mile after mile, while thinking of next year’s trip.
