We began our adventures by seeing the Great Salt Lake’s Promontory Point and the Spiral Jetty.

We traveled north to the Golden Spike National Historic Site that commemorates the first railway to cross the nation in 1869. It is located at Promontory Summit, of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. We arrived in time for a reenactment of the driving of the golden spike that linked the eastern part of the railway with that from the west.

The Spiral Jetty is conceptual art comprised of a circular rocky road 15 feet wide and 1500 feet long, most of it is in the shallow waters of the Great Salt Lake.
