The Buckhorn Wash pictographs were nearly destroyed a number of years ago and restored by a cooperative effort. The panel is one of the premiere panels in the San Rafael Swell. The images are predominately done in the Barrier Canyon style. Some interpret the anthropomorphic figures as depicting shamanic travel into other dimensions. Several morphs seem to be initiating rain and maybe 'rain shaman'.
