Traveling days don’t often leave much time for glyphs, so we decided to see the Wolfman Panel in Butler Wash as it an excellent site. It stands in contrast to Newspaper Rock and the glyphs along Indian Creek in some ways. It might help to know that the Abajo Mountains lie between the Basketmaker style images found at southern sites like Wolfman and the Abajo-La Sal style found in the Indian Creek drainage near the Canyonlands. In revisiting Newspaper Rock we saw the panel with new eyes and then journeyed down the Indian Creek area to Shay Canyon for the last glyphs of the day.
