Lee and Jo Ann took us into sites this day that have some of the most intriguing petroglyphs of our trip. Their knowledge of these sites made for a rewarding day even though two of the sites we had planned to see were inaccessible when gates onto BLM public land were found locked. Latter that day we stopped in Winslow to see the remarkable La Posada Hotel built in 1930. It is one of the last of a series of hotel-depot complexes built across the country. It was closed in 1957, but saved, beautifully restored and reopened as a historic hotel several decades later.
