We have Mateo camping out here for three days and two nights between school and summer camps. Three outings were planned. The first was to the Fairfield Jelly Bean Factory, then yesterday to the Lawerence Hall of Science and today we will go to the Berkeley Adventure Park.

Mateo was most impressed with the giantic jelly bean mosaics, but hated the noisy part of the factory tour. But we stocked up on Jelly beans for projects.

We took a clip art image of a turtle and he turned it into a bean tray to give his father for Father’s Day. Dry beans filled the background and jelly beans the turtle. It has a delicious aroma. We later made bean bags to fill with left over dry beans to use on the left over targets.

We then made two cardboard targets, and Mateo painted all but the water. We then challenged our Kiwi participants to a water baloon toss and little bags of jelly beans of course were the prizes.
