Carol and I came a day early to explore Bangkok and get our land feet so to speak. We took the sky tram and boat ferries, and went to the Grand Palace and the textile muesum with in it’s grounds.

The city is in mourning over the death of its beloved king. It is draped in black and white folds of fabric with huge banners hanging down from skyscrapers showing the death of the longest raining Monarch. We saw trains, buses, and boats pouring out groups of mourners dressed in black going to give their final repesect to the King laid to rest in the Grand Palace

We did about 5 miles of walking for we kept turning the map around in our hands to find the directions back to our hotel, thus making a huge square circling our hotel within two blocks of it over and over again before discovering our error.
