Our friend Diana Mansfield from the Bay Area just happened to be in the Moab area and joined us for a day of glyphing. We started out at the Moab Golf Course panel that features the ‘Moab Man’ and other Abajo-La Sal style petroglyphs. From there we headed to Kane Creek Drive that briefly runs along the east side of the Colorado River. We stopped at Moon Flower Canyon to see a panel that has Archaic as well as Abajo-La Sal glyphs. Diana found an unusal ladder stationed inside a rock crevice that may have been used to access storage.
We continued on Kane Creek Drive and found the Owl panel situated across the canyon. We took pictures from the road due to time constraints. Heading back to town, we saw the ‘birth scene’ panel. Our last stop was at Thompson Wash located in the Book Cliffs near the confluence of Sego Canyon.
