The children made animal masks in this session. I have done it with other groups and the effects were quite different with the art supplies given in more neutral colors of browns, tans and black and white creating more of an African effect in the color choices. These mask can be made by the kids in their separate pods. If you have a few different art supplies for each table you well find an unity within that Pod that could be celebrated in observation.

We placed all the Masks in a circular grouping in the middle of the grass hill we were on ( could be done in the patio area) and then one by one every one went and gathered their mask and put it on. We formed two circles. One circle within the other and each circle going in opposite directions slowly around and around. It was amazing to see the intimacy of observation and was very moving.
