On our way to Seco Canon we were attacked by a multitude of miniature parachutes released by some unknown flying object. We were in search of pictographs in Seco Canyon that are located before Thompson Wash and the renowned pictograph panels. Thanks to Dell’s help we made the arduous climb up to the cliff face of the mesa where we found some unique pictographs unlike any other we have seen.
From there we headed toward Price to join the celebration of Nine Mile Canyon being placed into the National Register of Historic Places. After we checked into Nine Mile Canyon Ranch, we set out to see the glyphs in the upper part of the Canyon. On our way we encountered the ‘erosion control project’ being conducted to reduce the impacts of the truck traffic due to the development of the region’s natural gas resources. The controversial project may knock down some dust, but it certainly takes its toll on cars!
