Leaving Beaver, we had our first glimpse of Utah's autumn colors from red flaming oak trees and shimmering yellow cottonwood leaves heading to Teasdale.

Our first stop was the East Fork Sevier River. The ominous gathering of clouds along the way gave warning of the near gale winds that seemed to come up just as John was getting his fishing gear together for a few hours of trout fishing. After an hour, John was chased back to the car as the winds whipped through the valley with gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

Several hours later, snow flurries covered the ground as we settled into our Cactus Court Motel room in Teasdale, (the 12th year we’ve stayed and enjoyed this lodging). As if by magic, we discovered a herd of sheep in the alfalfa field next to our Motel. The sheep came and went like waves crossing the field until the sheep dogs ushered them to parts unknown.
