We think ‘Sid and Charley’, made of Entrada Sandstone, are named after two of the Swaseys who explored the Swell while ranching horses. We were intent on finding the glyphs not far from this landmark but failed to find the ‘Broken Hearted Man’ and several other small panels in the area. This is a why GPS is used by many glyph hunters. We usually find glyphs without the aide of this technology, but this can mean that failure will be part of the process. This can also enhance the excitement of the hunt as failure maybe inevitable.
