Led by Larry Evans, this URARA field trip took us northwest of Moab. Our first stop was to the Valley City area. After crossing a defunct reservoir we climbed nearby hills that had several good sites overlooking the valley adjacent to the Book Cliffs. Our next stop was northwest of Crescent Junction to the boulder field petroglyphs just below Book Cliffs. From there Larry took us into Crescent Canyon to see an ancient Barrier canyon style painted site that's between three and six thousand years old. There were some petroglyphs near by. We greatly enjoyed Larry’s company and expertise. This was an excellent field trip with a good group of URARA members who we had not previously met.
