We started and ended our day in Bryce catching the morning and evening light. In between, we traveled west over the mountains, stopping briefly at Cedar Breaks. From there we headed to Parawon Gap and the glyphs we visited nearly a decade ago. Over the millennia, the wind and an ancient river cut the gap. It became a travel route from the Great Basin Desert into Utah. This accounts for the different styles of rock art found there, including Great Basin Abstract, Fremont and Southern Paiute.

The site is also said to function as seasonal solar calendar and a map of ancient travel. Part of the site is behind a chain link fence. When we were there years ago this is the only part of the site we saw. There is a great deal more to be seen simply by walking down the road to the west.

Later that day, we spent a few hours finding some unique rock art at the southern end of Black Point. We intend to return, as there is a great deal more to be seen.
